Welcome to Troop 40

Troop 40 in West Windsor, NJ offers boys the opportunity to learn skills that they will use not only in scouting but for the rest of their lives. Our program focuses on helping boys develop into productive young adults, while having fun along the way. Scouts in our troop learn outdoor, first aid, organization and leadership skills. Troop 40, part of the Mercer Area District, was chartered in 1964 by the First Presbyterian Church of Dutch Neck. We offer boys the chance to experience the best that scouting has to offer.

Memorial Day Parade: May 25th

We will be having our annual Memorial Day Parade on 5/25. It is a great way to give back to the community and it is a day off from school. The check-in time is 10:25, and it will end around noon. It is an amazing way to honor our veterans, who have done so much for us. New Scout Campout: May 15 - 17

The new scout campout is happening on May 15th-17th at Quail Hill. We will be having a shooting range, fun hike, and a campfire with skits and songs planned out. COPE campout: April 17 - 19

From April 17th-19th, we will be having our annual COPE campout at Ockanickon. During this campout, we will be doing an activity called the Aerial Park, which is an obstacle course fully in the air. This campout is especially fun for younger scouts, though all scouts are encouraged to attend. Please consider joining us, as sign ups are limited. Gettysburg Campout: March 20 - 22

From 3/20-3/22, troop 40 will be going on the Gettysburg campout. This campout will consist of a hike in the historic Gettysburg area with many amazing trails, campfires and many more exciting activities. The cost will be $30 so please keep this in mind. Cabin Camping Campout: Feb 20 - 22

From February 20-22, we will be holding our annual Cabin Camping at Ockanickon Scout Reservation. We will be going on a hike, playing board games, having a dessert competition, and possibly going to the shooting range. We only cabin camp once a year, so take this awesome opportunity and sign up ASAP since there's only 20 slots. Klondike Campout: Jan 30th - Feb 1st

The Klondike experience brings classic Scout skills, teamwork, and cold-weather challenge together in one action-packed event. Patrols will trek through the woods of OSR as they visit themed stations that test their abilities in fire building, first aid, pioneering, shelter building, navigation, and more. Scouts work together to solve problems, earn points, and show their Scout spirit all while embracing the fun and challenge of winter camping. Please sign up on the calendar if you will attend.
